This collection belongs to the Club and includes images of squad photography spanning from the end of the 19th Century till the present day.
The images show different coloured shirts (red and white, green), and portray the squads in different surroundings, including the 1914 Tour of South America. The collection also includes a complete set of cigarette cards from the 1921-22 season, which features the first Exeter City side to play in the Football League.
Four generations of Uzzells have supported City going back to four brothers who watched the Grecians in their very early days. Now memorabilia they collected over the past 100 years has been passed down to 'Exile' Phil Uzzell and shared with The Grecian Archive. Phil watches City with his father Gerald and son Devon. Devon was a mascot on the Brazil tour of 2014.
This collection was created by Will Barrett for The Grecian; City's 2014-15 match day programme. Each match day, the series used an item of paraphernalia as a means to tell a story about the history of the club.
The feature was named as the winner of Best Feature by trade publication Programme Monthly and football Collectable in the Ski Bet League 2 category.
Will is a researcher at the University of Exeter, the Grecian Archive Project Co-Ordinator, a member of the ECFC History Group, and a City fan since 1989.
