LITTLEWOODS CUP

Just four days into the season, City began our League Cup campaign at home to Swansea City.

Across eight games we would also face Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool, before eventually being defeated by Sunderland in a replay at Roker Park.

The competiton would eventually be won by Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest, who beat Oldham Athletic 1-0 in front of 74,343 fans at Wembley.
