Biographical Text

Ken Rose was with Exeter City during 1952/53. He joined the club from Chesterfield and later made a small number of appearances for Rochdale and Workington. 

Ken commenced his senior career with Chesterfield signing a full contract in November 1950 although he was destined never to appear in a league game. 

Signing for Exeter City in June 1952, Ken made a goalscoring debut for the Grecians in the 1-0 home win over Millwall in September 1952. In and out of the team, he enjoyed a couple of runs of three or four games and finished the season on eleven league appearances whilst managing to score twice against Aldershot in April 1953. 

Given a free transfer at the end of the season, Ken signed for Rochdale in July 1953 before moving on to Workington in June 1954. Working later as Workington’s assistant trainer, Ken died on 7 November 1996.
