Biographical Text

After playing for Witton Albion, Parsley got his Football League opportunity when signing for Leeds United in November 1988.

However, he never made a league outing for the Elland Road club, but did have a loan spell with Chester City in December 1989 where he made six league appearances.

Moving on to Huddersfield Town in July 1990, he was much more successful and played 57 league matches.

Following another loan spell, this time with Doncaster Rovers in February 1991, Parsley moved to West Bromwich Albion in September 1993 for a fee of £25,000.

After two seasons at the Hawthorns, the defender then signed for Exeter City on a free transfer in August 1995, making his debut for the Grecians against Darlington at St James’ Park.

He went on to make 32 league outings for City, but was released at the end of the 1995-96 season, when he linked up with his former club, Witton Albion, for a second spell with the Cheshire side.

Parsley then managed both Guiseley and North Ferriby United, before taking over at Farsley Celtic in October 2008.

The club was disbanded in March 2010, but Parsley then took charge of the team formed to replace them, Farsley A.F.C.
He left the club in May 2017 after 7 years and despite leading the club to promotion to the Premier Division of the Northern Premier League in 2016–17.
