Theo Cutler, a striker from Dorchester, signed for Exeter City as a scholar/trainee after finishing school in 2023. He had been with the club’s academy since the under-13 category. He made his first-team debut in the EFL Trophy soon after the start of his first season as a scholar.  

Theo appeared as an under-16s player for under-18s in the EFL Youth Alliance during 2022/23 and was also named in the squad for the FA Youth Cup tie against Newport County in October 2022.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season at the start of his traineeship, he appeared in a first-team friendly against Weston-super-Mare before making his official first-team debut in the EFL Trophy against Reading on 19 September 2023. He also scored in both of the club's FA Youth Cup games in 2023/24 prior to joining Tiverton Town on loan in December 2023 where he was to score on his debut.
