Biographical Text

Albert Muncey played for Exeter City in the Plymouth and District League before the club turned professional in 1908.

He made his debut against the Devon and Cornwall Light Infantry on 6n October 1906 and, in a season when forty-two players appeared in the first-team, was one of the few regular choices as he made eighteen appearances during 1906/07. .

Captaining Dawlish during the following campaign, he represented both East Devon and Devon at football as well as playing cricket and hockey.

The 1911 census records an Albert Edward Muncey (26) as an innkeeper in Shaldon. A person of the same name died in Bideford in 1956.
