Biographical Text

Bobby Mitchell played three league games for Exeter City in the early 1950s. He joined the club from Third Lanark and later played for Headington United.

A one-time Dunfermline Athletic player, Bobby had netted seven goals for Third Lanark’s Scottish League side in 1950/51 when he signed for Exeter City in July 1951.

Bobby made his Grecians’ debut against Northampton Town at the County Ground on 27 October 1951 and was retained for the following game at home to Reading. Not featuring in the next three league games, he reappeared for the game at Brighton in December which proved to be his final first-team appearance. 

Released at the end of the season, Bobby later appeared for Headington United and Bath City and died in 2002.
