Miles got his Football League chance with Cardiff City in 1930, where he appeared in three matches.
He then played for Yeovil and Petters United, before signing for Leicester City in 1932 where he added a further seven league outings.
He enjoyed the best spell of his career when he linked up with Clapton Orient in 1934 and in two seasons with the club Miles scored six goals in 73 league appearances.
The winger signed for Exeter City in the summer of 1937 and went straight into the team for the opening game of the season against Newport County at Somerton Park.
Despite featuring in the first seven matches, he never played again and was released to join Worcester City.
Idris Miles died in October 1983 in Dudley.
