Match 19
6th March 1983
Frome (away)

HANDY MANDY

EXETER LADIES FC are without goalkeeper Brenda Frayne for tomorrow's testing trip to Frome in the Women's Western League. It is a hastily re-arranged fixture and the club's only regular goalkeeper had already planned a trip to Holland. Mandy Bowen, a very able replacement with some goalkeeping experience, will stand in and Sue Yelland comes in at left back. The side is otherwise unchanged from the one that hammered St Catherines 11- 0 last week.

Exeter LFC: M. Bowen, J. Tancock, T. Lake, F. Crispin, S. Yelland, J. Costello, M. Langman, D. Turner, J. Trott, A Hesketh, B. Thomas. Subs P. Wilson, S. Trace.

Match Report
ANNIE ON TARGET FOR FOUR

Leading scorer Annie Hesketh scored all four goals in Exeter Ladies FC's scrappy 4-1 win at Frome yesterday in the Women's Western League. She scored a first half hat- trick and added a penalty in the second half of a game Exeter dominated. They had plenty of possession but didn't use that advantage to take a poor Frome side apart in the way they have punished other weak sides this season. Stand-in goalkeeper Mandy Bowen was rarely troubled and did herself credit by saving a first half penalty.
