Relegation From The Football League (2003)

In 2003, Exeter City were relegated to the National Conference.

Despite a 1-0 win against Southend United in the last game of the season, Exeter City placed 23rd in Division Three, and were relegated just one point short of safety.

Continuing financial difficulties underpinned City's relegation to the National Conference after the 2002/2003 season, ending eighty-two years in the Football League.

Fortunately, the stint in the Conference would come to an end in 2008, leaving City to chalk the period down to experience as the Grecians triumphantly returned to the Football League.
