Biographical Text

Jack Fowler was a wartime guest player for Exeter City during 1944/45 when, as the situation eased, a number of games were organised to constitute the first football played by the club since 1939. His grandson Derek Fowler played for Torquay United in the 1980s.

John Collier "Jack" Fowler played as a full-back for Bradford City between 1924 and 1928 making thirteen league appearances before transferring to Torquay where he made 180 apperances (scoring 10 goals) between 1928 and 1933.

By then in his forties, Jack guested for Exeter City in a 6-2 win at Yeovil in February 1945.
