Match 25
25th March 2012
Bristol Ladies Union (h)

Exeter City Ladies 3-0 Bristol Ladies Union

Exeter City knew they needed to win to continue their fight for promotion when they met Bristol Ladies Union, who recorded a shock 4-1 win when the teams last met.

In a closely fought first half, Lola Garcia Sanchez broke the deadlock to put City 1-0 up at half at the home ground of Topsham Town FC. Victory was ensured in the following 45 minutes with goals from Natalie Shenton and Kirsty Caunter.

The Bristol Ladies Union then did the Grecians a favour last Sunday by recording a 1-0 win over Larkhall Athletic. It means Larkhall have two games to play and City have one. If both
sides win their remaining fixtures they will be on equal points and the league title will go down to goal difference.

Only one team goes up but the Grecians could win the league and be promoted for the fourth consecutive season. City will play that final league game of the season away to Frome Town on Sunday 22nd April.

Just prior to this the Ladies will feature in the final of the Devon County Cup at The Devon FA Headquarters at Coach Road in Newton Abbot, on Thursday 19th April at 7pm. The match promises to be a competitive one as the ladies face Plymouth Argyle! Argyle are currently situated in the Women's Premier League, two leagues higher than City.

The team would like to see as many people there as possible, so please turn out to show your support.
