CITY LADIES SECURE PROMOTION

South West Women's Premier League On Sunday 29th April Exeter City Ladies secured their fourth promotion in five years when they were crowned champions of the South West Women's Football League! The promotion was secured by the club's astounding goal difference of +18 over promotion rivals Larkhall Athletic. With City finishing their season the previous weekend, beating Frome 7-1, there was a wait to see whether Larkhall could pull off a miracle and beat Weymouth 19-0 to take the league title that day.

Promotion will see City feature in the Combination League next season, against sides such as Swindon, Portsmouth, Forest Green Rovers and Plymouth Argyle (who were relegated at the close of their season). This will be the season to see whether the Ladies can push on again into the Women's National Premier League!

The ladies team have had a remarkable season and can attribute this to not just the team players but also those behind the scenes.

Exeter City Ladies Football Club are proudly sponsored by ALS Motorparts, whose contributions have financed both kit and travel costs this season. The ladies would like to dedicate this season's performance to the late father of owner Alan Smith, who sadly passed away this year. He was a keen supporter of the ladies team and was often seen supporting the girls at home fixtures. Exeter City Supporters Trust kindly subsidised the cost of hiring the training facilities. A big thank you to Topsham Town Football Club for the use of their ground and facilities again this season and to their Board members for travelling to support the team at away fixtures. One lady who cannot go without a mention for her fantastic fundraising efforts (and cakes!) this season, is East Devon Grecians' very own Di Lee. Creating programmes to sell at every fixture, travelling to show her support at every game and assisting with the administration of the Club's Facebook page, Di has been a star!

Lastly but not least, a huge thank you from the team to Manager Steve Tully and Assistant Manager Chad Gribble for giving up their free time to coach and manage the team.
