The Fixture on the 10th October
WFA CUP:
Exeter City LFC v Keynsham Town Development
Venue: St James' Park Kick off: 2pm

This fixture sees Exeter City Ladies FC enter the Women's FA Cup competition for the first time in the Club's history. To mark the occassion, Exeter City Football Club and Director Julian Tagg have shown huge support for the Ladies team and given permission for the match to be played at St James' Park.

This will be a huge test for the Ladies team, playing on the centre stage of the Club, against a team in the league higher than themselves. This is the opportunity the Ladies team and manager Steve Tully have been waiting for, to see how far they can go.

The Club would like to get as much support for the Ladies team as possible, so for any fans wishing to come and watch the Ladies team next Sunday, the support would be greatly appreciated.

Exeter City Ladies FC v Keynsham Town Development Ladies FC
FA Cup fixture
Sunday 10th October

Exeter City Ladies FC played their first ever FA Cup fixture at St JamesPark against a team several leagues higher than themselves. Within ten minutes City found themselves a goal down, despite commanding the majority of possession. The ladies battled hard to claw their way back, with Kirsty Caunter's shot being forced wide by Keynsham's keeper on the stroke of half time. As the second half commenced City equalised when a Sophie Anderson corner was pushed into the back of the net by fellow centre midfielder Josie Copp. City continued to apply the pressure, with Keynsham's keeper again forced to make a spectacular save, from a Zoe Kingdom twenty yard strike. Unfortunately, it was not City's day when with ten minutes remaining Keynsham struck with their second goal. The score remained 2-1 to Keynsham at the final whistle.
