Biographical Text
Locally-born Vic Hoyle made half-a-dozen appearances for Exeter City in the mid-1930s. He later played a similar number of games for Torquay United.
He started in the Exeter City reserve team in 1935- 36 but was soon promoted into the Grecians’ Third Division South side when he made his debut in a 3-1 defeat at Queens Park Rangers in October 1935. In and out of the side he scored once in his only season with the club when he was on target in the 2-0 home win over Cardiff City.
He left the Grecians to join Dawlish Town but later in 1936-37 moved to Torquay United where he featured in a further six league matches for them.
Victor died in 1969.
