1949
Former Torquay player killed in air crash. It is learned on the 5th May, that one of the victims of the air-crash in which many members of the crack Turin (Italy) football team, and other people, were killed, was Leslie Lievesley, the former Torquay United half back and a nephew of Wilfred Lievesley, the City centre-forward and outside-right of the 1920's. Leslie Lievesley was transferred from Crystal Palace to Torquay just before the war, then became a soccer coach in Holland before moving to Turin in 1947. He was 38 years old.


2008
City beat Torquay 4-1 at Plainmoor in the 2nd leg of the conference play-off semi final to secure a 5-3 aggregate win.

penalty save and a goal trom Robbie Simpson. They will now play Lincoln over 2 legs
