1925: Watford 3 Exeter City 1 (Harold Blackmore). Third Division South. Attendance: 7,500.

1931: Crystal Palace 3 Exeter City 0.Third Division South. Attendance: 8,000.

1936: Swindon Town 3 Exeter City 1 (Rod Williams)Third Division South. Attendance: 6,000.

1945: Brighton & Hove Albion 3 Exeter City 2 (Fred Jones, Jack Blood). Third Division South (South of the Thames)

1952: Exeter City winger Doug Regan signed for Bristol City, having been with the Grecians since 1946.

1953: Exeter City 2 (Charlie McClelland 2) Walsall 1. Third Division South. Attendance: 6,500. On the same day, Exeter City Reserves
lost 0-5 at Yeovil Town in the Southern League.

1956: At least six people died and several others injured in road accidents in thick fog. Most of England, south of a line from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to Blackpool was shrouded in fog, with visibility in parts of East Anglia reduced to five yards in places.

1959: Northampton Town 1 Exeter City 1 (Jack Wilkinson)Fourth Division. Attendance: 4,709. On the same afternoon, Exeter City Reserves beat Ramsgate 3-2 in a Southern League fixture at St James' park, with goals from Rackley, Pulman and Bennett. The attendance was 5,282.

1960: Top of the pop charts was Elvis Presley with The Jordanaires - 'It's Now Or Never

1964: Exeter City 4 (Des Anderson, Adrian Thorne, Alan Banks, Dermot Curtis) Grimsby Town 1.Third Division. Attendance: 5,291.
On the same afternoon, Exeter City Reserves won 9-1 at Poole Town in a Western League fixture. Alan Riding netted a hat-trick, and there were two goals each for Carter, Hutchings and Redwood.

1969: Exeter City signed centre-half Brian Sharples on loan until the end of the season from Birmingham Citymanager Frank Broome signed the player in Birmingham and then made the dash to Lytham St Anne's to register the player with the Football League to beat the deadline.

1970: Oldham Athletic 2 Exeter City 0. Fourth Division. Attendance: 4,185.

1971: Top of the pop charts was Benny Hill with Ernie. The Fastest Milkman In The West.'

1977: Jimmy Giles signed for Exeter City from Charlton Athletic for a fee of £7,000.

1980: Top of the pop charts was John Lennon with '(Just Like) Starting Over.'

1983: Exeter City announced that they lost £92,923 on the year. However this was much improved on the previous year when the club lost £188,719.

1984: The British colony of Hong Kong to be returned to China in thirteen years time after an historic agreement is signed.

1986: Scunthorpe United 3 Exeter City 1 (Steve Biggins)Fourth Division. Attendance: 1,545.

1990: Exeter City Reserves 7 (Eshelby 3, Wright 2, Young, Own Goal) Merthyr Tydfil 1. South West Counties League. Top of the pop charts was Vanilla Ice with 'Ice, Ice baby.'

1992: Exeter City 2 (Steve Moran, Pender o.g.) Burnley 2. Second Division. Attendance: 3,179. It is announced that both David Cooper and Andy Harris had signed contracts keeping them at Exeter City until the summer of 1995.

1997: The Conservative leader William Jefferson Hague has married his fiancée Ffion Llewelyn Jenkins in a private ceremony at Westminster

1998: Halifax Town 1 Exeter City 1 (Stoneman o.g.). Third Division. Attendance: 2,342.
