Biographical Text

Sudanese international Mo Eisa joined Exeter City on loan from Milton Keynes Dons in January 2024. Playing in non-league football until the age of twenty-three, he moved into the Football League with Cheltenham Town before stints with Bristol City and Peterborough United. He had joined both Peterborough and MK Dons in what were described as club record deals.Coming to London from Sudan at the age of nine, Mo played for the Pro Touch Soccer Academy ahead of progressing into adult football with Dartford. Playing also for Leatherhead, VCD Athletic and Kent side Corinthian, he subsequently enjoyed a hugely successful period at Greenwich Borough which earned him a deal with Cheltenham Town in 2017.Settling immediately at Whaddon Road, Mo scored twenty-five league and cup goals during 2017/18 and won various player of the year awards in what proved to be his only season with the club. Attracting the attention of teams such as Brentford, Leeds United and Portsmouth he eventually signed for Bristol City in July 2018. Yet he was to play no more than half-a-dozen games for his new club prior to joining Peterborough United on a four-year deal in June 2019 for what was described as a club record fee.Proving a great success at London Road in his first season - when he scored sixteen goals in all competitions - Mo was less prolific during his second term and was on the move again to Milton Keynes Dons in July 2021 for what was again reported as another club record fee. Netting a dozen times for Dons in his first term with the club, Mo subsequently suffered a serious injury in April 2022 which ruled him out until the November of the following season. Still managing to score fourteen times for a team that was to be relegated, Mo found himself playing in League Two at the time he made his competitive international debut for Sudan in November 2023. Replaced during the game against Togo by his brother Abo (then playing for Grimsby Town), the 29-year-old Mo had scored five times in 21 first-team sppeatances during the 2023/24 season when he joined Exeter City in January 2024. With his MK Dons contract due to expire at the end of the season, Mo's goals tally in professional football had reached 77 from just short of 230 league and cup appearances.

Arriving at St James' Park, Mo promptly made his debut when coming on as a second-half substitute against Bristol Rovers on 3 February 2024 and scored his first goal in his first start a week later in a 2-1 win at Wigan.
