Biographical Text

Max was the under-18s captain in 2016/17 and signed his first professional contract at St James Park in April 2017.

Capped by Wales four times at under-17 age group he made his debut for the Dragons at that age level in a UEFA European Under-17 Championship victory over Netherlands in 2015 as a 16-year-old. The midfielder made his debut for the Grecians in a 4-2 defeat to Oxford United in the Checkatrade Trophy in August 2016, when he was still an academy player. He started the 2017–18 season on loan at Southern League Division One West club Bideford, playing 15 games and scoring twice. In 2018/19 he went on loan to Tiverton Town.

Max came on as a substitute on the 19 Sept 2020 for his home town Bodmin in their FA Vase game with Keynsham Town.
He was on loan from Bideford where he was based at that time.
