He was given a free transfer in the summer of 1949, joining St Neots.

The following is from the British Newspaper Archive
“HERE'S a tip for new St Johnstone manager Johnny Pattillo.
Twenty-five-year old Francis O'Hagen, a former Saint, now playing for St Neots in the United Counties League, would like to move back to Scotland, and, most of all, to St Johnstone.
O'Hagen is an outside-left, with a good turn of speed, and a cracking shot. He was signed as a youngster by by the late Davie Rutherford, but got a "free" after two seasons.
He had spells with Fife, Blackpool and Stirling Albion”
