Bob, from Weston-Super-Mare, was on trial at Exeter at the start of the 1977/78 season having also been on trial at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, he played for Exeter City in the Western League and the South West and Wales Youth League.
He left Exeter in December 1977 and signed for his hometown club, Weston-Super-Mare.
