Originally the Alfred McAlpine Stadium but now named the John Smith’s Stadium for sponsorship purposes, the stadium has been home to Huddersfield since 1994. The ground is also home to the Huddersfield Giants rugby team, and has also played host to Rugby League World Cup matches.
