Joe was on Yeovil Town’s books when at school before becoming a trainee at Exeter City in 2013 and a professional through until 2017. Upon his release Joe signed for Taunton Town before moving on to Bridport in 2018. After a short spell at Bridport, Joe returned to Taunton only to leave for Bideford in 2019.

As of 2022/23 Joe remained at Southern League Bideford where he was in his fourth season.
