Lewis was an under-16 player with Exeter City in 2006/07 and a trainee between 2007 and 2009. 

Lewis signed for Bridgwater Town in 2009 moving on to Weymouth in April 2011 where he was to play 35 first-team games. After a short time at Evesham United, Lewis played 37 times for Tiverton Town in 2012/13. He was then at Taunton Town for two seasons before playing for Street and, very briefly again, Tiverton. Lewis later played for both Wellington and Buckland Athletic.   

After Exeter City, Lewis studied at Hartpury College prior to returning to the Exeter area to work in administration, sales and accounting. As of 2023 Lewis was working for a business that is a supplier to superyachts and cruise liners.
