Daniel, from Penzance, was with Exeter City's Academy in the under-17's category in 1994/95, he for Exeter in the Devon and Exeter Youth League.

He played 15 matches, scoring 14 goals in the Devon and Exeter Youth League in the in 1995/96.

Playing the following season, he had scored 28 goals in 13 games up to January 1st in the D & E Youth League.

Daniel played 20 games, scoring 9 goals in the South West Counties League in 1996/97.

He played in the FA Youth Cup, scoring in a 4-2 win against Colchester in the 1997/98 season, he also played in both the Arsenal games that season.

Dan came on as a substitute, replacing Nicky Medlin, for the 1st team in friendly against Bridgwater on the 28/7/97.
