John, from Exeter was born on the 6/12/1990 who had played for Exeter City's U-18 as a 15 year old.

John was with the U-16's development squad at the Centre of Excellence in 2006/07.

He was in the squad that played against Newcastle on the 2/12/2006 in the FA Youth Cup 4th Round. 

John Wannell played against Cheltenham on the 26th April 2008 and against Cirencester in SW Counties League Cup Final.

He was a goalkeeper who played in the club's South West Youth League team
