He was a reserve team goalkeeper who made his debut on the 1st of November 1952 against Gravesend, in a 0-0 draw, away in the Southern League.

He also played against Lowell's Athletic on the 7th of March 1953. He was still playing as an amateur for Exeter City in 1956/57.
