Shaun was from Torrington and played against Torquay in a youth game in 1984/85.

After playing Shaun went into coaching and was a youth coach at Leeds from 1998 to 2006, moving to Stoke City where he stayed to 2009 in a similar role. Shaun became assistant manager of Lars Bohinen, Arne Sanstro and other clubs before joining Sanderfjord in 2012.
He became assistant manger of Ostersund in 2018, moving to Brommapojkarna a year later where he was promoted to manager in January 2021.
