He was an amateur who played for the Reserves at Exeter in 1909/10, he also played as a full-back for the reserves in the Plymouth and District league on the 27/4/1912 against the Royal Navy Barracks.

He was still playing as an amateur the following season, he also played for Exmouth Town. He scored twice for the reserves on the 21st December 1912.
