John Blackmore, son of Harold Blackmore was 16 year's old when he lead the attack for Exeter City Reserves at Centre-Forward against Dawlish in a friendly at Exeter on the 30th September 1950, he was a member of staff at Exeter City, who had impressed in local league football. 

He also played as an amateur, for Exeter City in a friendly against Devon County on the 31/3/1951.

The following season he played on the 20th September 1952, against Headington, away, in a Southern League fixture away. He was at outside-right in this game.
