The local press reported the signing of Percy from Probus on trial at Exeter

Percy Williams, an inside-right, a member of Probus Football Club, are to be given a trial by Exeter City. Probus Football Club have been prominent in Cornwall junior football for many years, and have been winners of the league and cup competitions, and Exeter City's insita tion to Webb and Williams is much appre ciated by the club officials and members.

The good standard attained by Probus Football Club is the outcome of many years of tuition by the late Mr. Silas Tucker and his successor. Mr. L. Lobb, master of Probus Council School, who is hon. secretary of the club, and that it is being maintained is manifest by the eelection of two Probus Council School boys for the County Schools' team.”


Percy played and scored a hat-trick as an outside-right against Barnstaple for the reserves in an Exeter and District League match at St James Park on the 20/3/1937. Exeter won 12-1.
