He was an amateur at Exeter City in 1932/33, who played at half back in the 2nd practice on the 17th of August 1932. He also played for the Reserves throughout 1932/33.

He had played played for AFC Friernhay in the late 30's and was part of there Devon Cup winning side in 1936/37
