George Bernard Shaw, an amateur goalkeeper, played as a 2nd half substitute for John Lobbett in the pre-season practice game on the 10th of August 1955.
He played for the Grecian's in City's Exeter and District league side at the start of the 1955/56 season. 

George had played in goal for the Royal Navy side against the Russian Fleet team, in the previous year as well as playing for the Royal Marine Corps. 

After leaving Exeter he was playing in goal for Exmouth
