Mike Lynch

Mike Lynch, an Irish youth international, from Coventry City, played for Exeter City reserves in 1-1 home draw with Bournemouth in March 1980.

Mike was born in New Zealand, moving to Australia when he was 6, as a 17 year old he paid his own fare to come to the UK, and was signed as an apprentice professional at Coventry City, whilst there he played for Eire Youth (his father was from Ireland) against Belgium in a 2-0 win in a December 1979.

He played for the club in an FA Youth Cup game v Walsall in September 1979 and scored a goal in Coventry's 5-4 defeat, He played alongside some very good players including Danny Thomas and Mark Hateley.

After his trial at Exeter he returned to Coventry but was not retained by the Sky Blues after the Summer in 1980.

(He may have returned to Australia and played for Sydney in 1983/84)
