1975
Peter Begam

Peter signed for Exeter City on 9th July 1975.

After playing several pre season games, he played in a Western League fixture for City Reserves away to Chippenham Town.

In this, his first and only game that he  received a terrible injury to his knee, which really was the end of his  hopes as a professional footballer. Chippenham didn’t have a stretcher, and John Newman the first team manager who played in that game, carried him from the pitch to the stand, and into the dressing room!

He did go on to play for Exmouth Town, Dawlish Town and Tiverton Town all in the Western League.

He later managed Exmouth Town, Exmouth Amateurs and Ottery St Mary.
