Biographical Text

Storey played for his local team, Washington Colliery, prior to signing for Bolton Wanderers in 1934.

He never made a first team outing there and moved on to Swindon Town in 1935, where he finally got his league chance, making 17 appearances and scoring two goals.

Linking up with Exeter City in the summer of 1937, despite featuring in five of the opening seven games that season, the first being at Newport County, he never got another game for the Grecians. He also scored two goals, against Bristol City and Gillingham respectively.

Storey returned to his native North East and moved to Gateshead, where he was to play three Third Division North matches for them.
