Lewis was Exeter City's third signing of the Summer of 2020.
Lewis started as a youth player with West Ham United in 2009 making his way through the age groups before signing for them in 2014.
On 2 July 2015, he made his first-team debut in the Uefa Europa League first qualifying round.
He was loaned for a month to Cambridge United in January 2016 where he made a total of 6 appearances.
In August 2016, Lewis joined Coventry City where he played 22 games before moving to Charlton in January 2017 on a permanent deal. He made a total of 27 appearances scoring once for the Addicks, before being released at the end of the 2019/20 season.
He had an extended trial at Plymouth Argyle before signing for Exeter City on the 1st of September after impressing in pre-season friendlies, and the following was reported on the club website.
"He scored his only league goal to date – a stunning 30-yard strike - against Plymouth Argyle in 2018. He will wear the number 20 shirt."
Speaking about his new addition, Matt Taylor said: “I was impressed both with his trial and his fitness in our training environment. He passed all our tests with flying colours.
“It was important it was right fit for both parties and we know what good pedigree Lewis has and it’s an opportunity for him to play football again after a few injuries.”
Matt believes the capture of Lewis will add a huge competition for places in the defensive positions."
He made his debut for Exeter on the 5th of September 2020 in the 1st round of the League Cup against Bristol City and his league debut 7 days later Salford City.
