Callum Rowe, from Aston Villa, had a single season for Exeter City during  2021/22 playing in eight league games and two EFL Trophy matches. He was on the pitch when City won promotion by beating Barrow in April 2022.  

Callum was part of Aston Villa's Under-23 squad from 2016/17 season until his release in June 2021. He played for the side in the EFL Trophy and other competitions. Then, alongside former Exeter City academy player Ben Chrisene, Callum made made his senior debut for Aston Villa on 8 January 2021 against Liverpool in the FA Cup after "a large number of first-team players and staff" tested positive for Covid-19. Callum provided the assist for Louie Barry to score Villa’s only goal of the game. Shortly afterwards Callum joined Hereford on loan. 

On his release from Villa, Callum signed for Exeter City in June 2021. He made his league debut on 14 August 2021 as a substitute in a 3–0 defeat to Leyton Orient and scored his first goal for a  Grecians’ team on 7 September in the Premier League Cup against Swansea. After playing just three first-team games by November, Callum had loan spells at Chippenham Town and Bath City in January 2022 before returning to Exeter to make his first league start at Port Vale on 22 March. He followed this through with being named man of the match in the home game against Stevenage on 26 March. A month later Callum came on as an 89th minute substitute when City beat Barrow to clinch promotion. 

Callum was released by Exeter at the end of the season and joined Yeovil Town in August 2022. He was released after just four games in November 2022 and, over the following months, had short spells at Salisbury and Hereford before joining Stourbridge in February 2023 in advance of moves to Rushall Olympic and Redditch United.
