Biographical Text

Kyle Taylor, a midfielder from Bournemouth, featured in a number of games in the first half of City’s 2021/22 promotion season before sustaining a serious injury. Missing an entire season, he was back in contention in 2023/24.

Kyle signed a long-term youth deal with AFC Bournemouth as a twelve-year-old and joined the club on a full-time basis upon leaving school in 2015. He made his debut for the Cherries in the FA Cup against Wigan Athletic in January 2018. In total he made three first-team appearances for the club; two in the FA Cup and one in the League Cup. Kyle's Football League debut was to come when on loan to Forest Green Rovers in August 2019; the first of five league games for the Gloucestershire club that was followed by another 31 on loan at Southend in 2020/21.

Kyle signed for Exeter City for an undisclosed fee in August 2021 agreeing a three-year deal with the Grecians. He made his debut  against Forest Green on 4 September 2021 and scored his first goal on 19 March 2022 at Oldham shortly before he was stretchered off with an injury that would keep him out for the rest of the season and throughout the 2022/23 campaign.

After nearly eighteen months injured Kyle returned to first-team action when he came on as a substitute during the win at Wycombe Wanderers on the opening day of the 2023/24 season. Following up by scoring against Crawley Town in the League Cup four days later, he went on to feature in 32 competitive fixtures during the season usually as a substitute (especially in the league where he made just three starts).
