Biographical Text

Owura Edwards, a winger, joined Exeter on loan from Bristol City and appeared in ten league games in the first half of the season when the Grecians won promotion in 2021/22. He later enjoyed an exteded loan with Ross County before switching to Colchester on a permanent basis.

Owura - brother of Opi Edwards of Bristol City, Forest Green Rovers and Torquay United - started his professional career with Newport County before signing for Bristol City in summer 2019. Loaned almost immediately to Bath City, he made a similar switch to League Two Grimsby Town in September 2020. After a successful spell in Lincolnshire, Owura returned to Ashton Gate to make his Bristol City debut on 23 January 2021 against Millwall in the FA Cup.

After three league games for Bristol City, Owura arrived at St James Park on what was due to be a season-long loan in August 2021. He soon made his debut on 21 August 2021 against Bristol Rovers and was to start three league games - and make seven substitute appearances - before his recall by Bristol City in January 2022. Owura also started five trophy and cup games for Exeter.

On his recall Bristol City immediately loaned Owura to Colchester where he scored three times in thirteen league games before joining Ross County on a season-long loan in 2022/23. In the north of Scotland Owura was to play alongside former Grecian Jordan Tillson and Exeter-born Ben Purrington (ex-Plymouth, Rotherham and Charlton).

Back once more with his parent club, he finally left Ashton Gate permanently when he signed for Colchester United in September 2023.
