History of St James Park | Exhibition
Description
The history of St James Park, home to Exeter City Football Club, was a one-year project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2016/7 (HLF), with the aim to identify, document, preserve and share the tangible and intangible history of the Club for communities of fans, staff and players in Exeter and beyond.
As part of the project, we collected over a 1000 photographs related to the history of the club, and used a selection of these to create a set of exhibition panels that went on display at the club and around the City.
The themes of the panels were: Early Years; Times of War; Redevelopments; City Highs; Classic Matches; Park People; Advertising & Sponsorship; City Squads.
There were also 3 panels created using fan photos, sent to us as part of our mass photography competition in 2016.
The exhibition, which opened on 23 March 2017, can be seen at the Club and online and the accompanying brochure can be downloaded online.
