Minehead (h)

Easter Monday, April 8th 1912.
SOUTHERN LEAGUE:
EXETER CITY 2-0 READING

At St. James's Park on Easter Monday the Grecians began very well with all the half-backs up in support of Rutter and company, but Caldwell kept his goal intact until five minutes before half time, when Rutter plunged in from a melee and drove the ball into the net.
The superiority of Exeter City was more evident in the second half, and they pressed almost throughout. But the only score they managed was one by Garside from a well-manouevred raid, and the City therefore won by two goals to none. Exeter were captained by Garside, and the teams were as follows:
City:- Pym; Bassett, Evans; Rigby, Griffiths, Lockett; Parnell, Watson, Rutter, Cornan, and Garside.
Reading: Caldwell; Smith, Bartholomew; Smart, Hanney, Andrews Lee, Bennett, Bell, Foster, and Greer.

City Reserves v Minehead

This friendly match was attended by a very small crowd, who found little to enthuse over. The Reserves fielded an all-amateur eleven, and were beaten by three goals to two, all the scoring being done in the first half.
