Match 22
Brighton and Hove Albion-Home
26th December 1912

CITY BEAT BRIGHTON AT ST JAMES'S PARK.

BOXING DAY FOOTBALL.
The conditions could have hardly been worse for football at Exeter on Boxing Day, a gale of wind following a morning of drenching rain, with the ground churned up into a morass of mud and water. Nevertheless, both sets of players contrived to provide an interesting game, much good football being displayed, with the City the more forceful. Rutter and Cooper gave Exeter a lead of two goals before the interval. The only score afterwards was for Brighton, Pym being unable to hold a hard drive from Goodwin, and turning the ball into his own goal.
Result:
Exeter City 2 goals, Brighton 1.
Attendance: 5,000.
Referee: Mr W.E.Russell.
