Half-time Rangers 1-0.
Result
QUEEN'S PARK RANGERS 1 (Smith penalty)
EXETER CITY 2 (Houghton, Murphy)
At Loftus-road, London, attendance 9,576.
Luck, or perhaps the referee, was not on Exeter's side this afternoon on the Queen's Park Rangers' ground, Loftus Road, London. In the first half a penalty was awarded against Douglass for "hands," when in fact he was struck on the shoulder by the ball. In the second half when Houghton was brought down from behind by one of the Rangers' backs and no penalty was given.
Rangers: Brown; Woods, Ingham; Nicholas, M.Powell, Angell; Kerrins, Cameron, Clark, Smith, Shepherd.
City: Kelly; Walton, Douglass; Dunne, Harvey, Mitchell; Thomas, Houghton, John, Murphy, McClelland.
Referee:- Mr. R. W. Kingston, of Newport.
As in the match with Brighton last week the City staged a magnificent rally near the end. They deserved both points, and lasted the course much better than the Rangers. Quite apart from that they had a bit of bad luck in the matter of the two penalty blows, one given and one not. John was injured in the first half and left the field, but returned to play after the interval. Exeter's best players were Mitchell, Dunne, Douglas, McClelland, and Thomas.

Exeter City X1 v St Luke's College
St. Luke's College, the Exeter and District League champions, scored a well-earned victory against a mixed Exeter City XI at St. James's Park on Wednesday evening, February 9th. The match was played under the Exeter City club's floodlighting system. As far as the Grecians were concerned in this match, the attempted blend of Southern League and "A" team juniors did not come off. Williams, making his first appearance for six weeks after recovering from injury, Fred Davey, and John Anderson, were the only established players in the Exeter side, the remainder being made up of members of the young "A" team, of whom Bernard Hunkin (goalkeeper), Brian Pond, of Kingston, and Norman Packer, of Pontypridd, South Wales, were the only ones to catch the eye. Exeter's goal was obtained near the end by Pond, but the City should have had a penalty in the closing minutes when Anderson's legs were whipped from under him and he sprawled in the mud. Denis Pollard and his twin brothers scored for the College in the first half.
