Match 37
26th March 1955
Leyton Orient Away
MORGAN NETS FOUR GOALS AND FACEY ONE IN ROUT OF CITY.
ORIENT FIND IT EASY:
Facing the strong wind at Brisbane-road, Leyton, the City were soon defending. Hesitancy first by Thomas and then by Dunne was a prelude to danger. The ball was slipped down the wing to Harburn, from whom an accurate centre brought Bell into action.
Orient:- Welton; Lee, Charlton; Blizzard, Aldous, McKnight; Facey, Rees, Burgess, Morgan, Hartburn.
City: Bell; B.Doyle, Douglass; Dunne, Harvey, Davey; Thomas, Houghton, Mitchell, Ellaway, John.
Referee:- Mr N.C.Taylor of Westbury.
Exeter City were not in the class. The visiting defence did nothing to impress and the forward line never looked the part. There is only one answer to the sort of football the losers played, and that is trouble. Exeter gave a "bottom-of-the-table" display.
THE GOALS
- Morgan from Hartburn's short pass, 16 minutes.
- Morgan following a goalmouth skirmish, 18 minutes.
- Morgan from Facey's centre, 35 minutes.

- Morgan from Facey's centre, 78 minutes.
Leyton Orient 5 Exeter City nil.
