GRECIANS CRASH AFTER A GOOD START.
EXETER CITY V MILLWALL:
APRIL 30TH.
In their last home match of the season Exeter once again disappointed their followers when they crashed to Millwall by 4 goals to 1. After a good first half everything went wrong in the second, and the visitors, a goal behind at the interval, went on to what was in the end a very easy victory.
City: Bell; B.Doyle, Douglass; Dunne, Harvey, Mitchell; Thomas, Mackay, Davey, Murphy, McClelland.
Millwall:- Finlayson; Jardine, Anslow; Short, Hurley, Saward; Hazlett, Smith, Summers, Pacey, Prior.
A few minutes from the interval Exeter went in front from the penalty spot, hands being given against Anslow. Mackay was successful with the kick into the bottom corner, which beat Finlayson comfortably. Just as he did in the cup-tie earlier this season Jardine, Millwall's right-back stunned Exeter with a cracking goal from long range, but this time he did it twice. Prior scored the first and last Millwall goals.
