EXETER CITY DRAW WITH THE 110TH BATTERY.

EXETER CITY DRAW WITH THE 110TH BATTERY.

Saturday, October 29th.

HORNER MISSED FROM THE CITY TEAM.

Exeter City's supporters were left in anything but the best of spirits when, as their favourites took the field this afternoon at the Barracks, it was seen that Horner was missing. All who saw Horner's staunch and resourceful display against the 111th two weeks ago regarded his absence as a club misfortune, for although George Campbell can play a clever game when it suits him, he scarcely possesses the qualifications of Horner, and is hardly the man to be trusted against the clever quintette that represent the attackers of the 110th. After Wallage had checked a dangerous forward rush, the Battery came again, and from Ebury's centre Massey banged the ball into the City's net in formidable style. The cheers of the Battery's supporters were deafening, and the soldiers maintained their position in Exeter's half, until a breakaway by little Jimmy Sellick resulted in the ball going through the goal off one of the Battery's backs. Massey scored a second goal for the soldiers from a pretty pass by Saunders. Half-time: 110th Battery 2 Exeter City 1. Sid Thomas and Reid, with a penalty, scored for the City after the interval, Massey replying for the Battery. The game ended all-square, each side having scored three goals.

Final Score
110th Battery 3-3 Exeter City
