DAWLISH v EXETER CITY.
East Devon Senior League
Senior League match at Dawlish. Played on Saturday, November 5th. Exeter fielded a weak team, the Rev Reid, Horner, Keech, and Russell all being away. home side were short of Robins and Walker. The The first half was a ding-dong struggle, only one goal being scored, Coles getting through for Exeter. On changing ends Richards equalised from Dart's centre. Fast and lively play ensued, and from a perfectly placed centre by Coles, Thomas regained the lead for the Grecians. But upon Dawlish claiming that the ball was handled home, the goal was disallowed. Sellick, who was the "star turn" in the Exeter team, scored a legitimate goal, and Thomas added a third. Exeter were penalised for foul play and Simmonds scored from the free kick. Exeter, who were scarcely the better team, won by three goals to two, but a draw would have been a fairer result.
