Teams:
Torquay United: Wood; Drury, King; Williams, Evans, Lewis; Palmer, Pearman, White, Allen, Edwards.
Exeter City: Peters; Ashford, Horner; Wallage, Davidson, Morgan; Sellick, Thomas, Reid, Russell, Dalyrimple.
As Torquay United withdrew from the League earlier this season the match was a "friendly." Exeter City's team was weaker than usual, on account of the re moval of Eveleigh, the captain, to Portsmouth. The match with Torquay United at Plainmoor was an extremely poor one, from a spectator's point of view, and there was no life in the game no life in the from start to finish. No doubt the encounter was somewhat marred by the size of the playing ground, which was not anything like large enough. The centre of the field, which is the Torquay Cricket Club ground, has been fenced off, and the Soccer matches have to be played at one side of the field. The width of the playing ground for today's match was about 20 yards short of the minimum regulation. Whenever they was some likelihood of a passing movement the ball went into touch, or else into the adjoining field. Luckily there was a good supply of balls about, so that when one was lost to sight another was trotted in. To depict the play would be pointless. The City were given fright at half-time, but when the game re-started there only one team in it. was a

Belmont, who have resigned from the Senior League, are likely to close down altogether. This is a great pity, for they have certainly played excellent football in their time, and they are one of the oldest clubs in Exeter. Three of their players may join Exeter City.
