UNITED BATTERIES v EXETER CITY

Saturday, November 4th.

Friendly match, at the Camp Field before a big crowd. The City were forced on to the defensive in the opening minutes and the soldiers, playing down the hill, had the better of things for most of the first half.

R.A.(United Batteries):- St Clair; Kendall and Hoare; McIntosh, Drury, and Callighan; Myers, Ebury, Massey, Robson, and Hobson.

City:-  Sturge; W. Wells and Clarke; Andrews, Sellick, and Morgan; Russell, Thomas, Davidson, Reid, and Brooks.

Referee: Sergeant-major Adams.

Sturge fisted away from Myers, and Wells helped in clearing the ball. Myers again obtained possession, and his centre dropped across the goalmouth only to be sent behind. A good shot by Myers bounced over the City crossbar, and one by Ebury was splendidly punched out by Sturge. Reid, who was in wonderful form, scored for the City, and a further goal was added by Andrews in the second half.
Result:
Exeter City 2 United Batteries Nil
